Engaging with the private sector
BusinessLab has started to identify relevant businesses to engage in the AdvantageNewcastle process. This is being done in collaboration with business organisations such as the CBI, and Chamber of Commerce.

Continuing discussions and feedback
Following the stakeholder meeting on the 5th August BusinessLab continued discussions with Alastair Thompson of the IOD, Geraldine Smith of Gateshead Council, Huw Lewis of Nexus, Rob Hamilton of Newcastle City Council and Estelle Chatrd of Science City, all of whom were unable to attend the meeting on the 5th. BusinessLab also sent out the AdvantageNewcastle model that emerged from the meeting to all who attended the meeting. Feedback for the model so far has been both encouraging and positive.

First Stakeholder Meeting AUG 5th 2011
The second phase of the AdvantageNewcastle programme kicked off with the first stakeholder meeting on August 5th, which was held at Time Central at the Gallowgate. The meeting aimed to go over the relevance of the original 5 themes that emerged from the validation phase and to explain how the AdvantageNewcastle process would work. Not all original stakeholders were able to attend the meeting but the discussion among the 11 who attended proved to be very fruitful, with a model emerging that will be utaken forward to the workshop phase. The model can be viewed under the 'publications' section of the website. Discussions with stakeholders who were unable to attend continued over the following week.
